My Redeemer Lives!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 104:7-9; 19-20a; 24
But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them. You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth. The moon marks off the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. You bring darkness, it becomes night. How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you made them all.

The following are the lyrics to the song, My Redeemer Lives. I hope that you find these words as inspiring as I do. I am including at the end of this devotional a version of this song, by Nicole C. Mullen. This song has been recorded and performed by several groups but this version is my favorite. Let me know what you think of this. I pray that it will comfort you and give you strength to finish out your week. God is alive and all of creation must testify that God is great!

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide till evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

The very same God
That spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know, my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know
My Redeemer

He lives To take away my shame
And He lives
Forever I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sins
Was the precious life He gave
And now He’s alive and
There’s an empty
Grave!

And I know
My Redeemer lives
He lives
I know
My Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer

I know
My Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
